Owen Hargreaves singled out Sergio Romero for special praise after he kept a clean sheet for Manchester United in their 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on Thursday night.

The Argentine goalkeeper was once again given the nod by Jose Mourinho for the Europa League semi-final first-leg clash and the shot-stopper produced a strong display to keep the Spanish side at bay.

Romero started in goal ahead of first choice stopper David De Gea and justified his selection with a solid performance.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game in the 67th minute when he curled home a delightful free-kick to hand Manchester United the advantage heading into next week’s return leg at Old Trafford.

And former Manchester United star Hargreaves was impressed by Romero’s display for the Red Devils.

Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of the game, Hargreaves said: “Again, it was a solid performance from Romero. He’s so reliable.”
