Guillem Balague has revealed that Manchester United are still trying to convince Antoine Griezmann to move to Old Trafford in the summer.

The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the 2016-17 season even though the striker has reiterated his plans to stay at los Rojiblancos.

Griezmann has established himself as one of Europe’s leading strikers during his two-and-a-half year stint playing under Atletico manager Diego Simeone at Vicente Calderon.

The Atletico striker has scored 16 goals and has made seven assists in 34 games in La Liga this season to attract continued interest from Manchester United.

Asked during a question and answer session with Sky Sports about the latest update on Griezmann, Balague said: “Atletico think Griezmann is staying.”

Balague added: “Griezmann has not made a decision on his future and it’s not certain that he’s signed anything with United, with United still trying to convince him.”
