Owen Hargreaves tells Man United to forget about Antoine Griezmann and sign this player
Owen Hargreaves wants to see Manchester United make a summer transfer swoop to sign Paulo Dybala this summer
Owen Hargreaves has urged Manchester United to prioritise signing Paulo Dybala ahead of Antoine Griezmann in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a summer transfer swoop for Griezmann as Jose Mourinho begins to think about bolstering his squad ahead of his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen whether a deal will be agreed to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford, but former Manchester United star Hargreaves feels that the Red Devils would be better off trying to sign Dybala from Juventus.
The 23-year-old Argentina attacker has scored 17 goals in all competitions for Juve this season and Hargreaves thinks he would be the perfect addition at Old Trafford – ahead of Griezmann.
Hargreaves told BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show: “You have to look at what you have and what you desperately need.
“I think they need a Dybala-type player. Everybody speaks about Griezmann, I think Griezmann would be terrific. But I think Dybala, he’s a little bit younger, he’s going to be a superstar if he isn’t already.
“He would be magnificent. That star power that Ibra (Zlatan Ibrahimovic) bought, I think Dybala could bring that as well.”
Manchester United, who drew 1-1 with Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday, are currently preparing for their crunch Europa League semi-final first leg clash against Celta Vigo in Spain on Thursday night.
