Antoine Griezmann opens up about his future amid Man United link
Antoine Griezmann insists he is "comfortable" at Atletico Madrid as he continues to be linked with Manchester United
Antoine Griezmann has insisted that he is “comfortable” at Atletico Madrid as he continues to be linked with a summer transfer to Manchester United.
The France international has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s top attacking talents in recent seasons and shined for his country at last summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.
Griezmann’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months amid reports that Manchester United could be planning a big-money swoop to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
However, the highly-rated attacker remained coy when asked about his future beyond the summer transfer window.
France forward Griezmann told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: “I am very comfortable here and now have to meet my representative with Miguel Angel Gil Marin and see what happens. You have to talk about yourself.
“I follow because I am happy. If I am happy in my personal life I will be happy in the professional.
“I love Simeone and I love my mates. I’m still as happy as the first day I introduced myself. I wish I could continue to enjoy my private and sports life.”
Griezmann has scored 26 goals in all competitions for Atletico Madrid so far this season.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to use the lure of Champions League football next season to attract Griezmann, with the Red Devils set to take on Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm next Wednesday night.
