Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Bernando Silva to Manchester United this summer, in a move which could free up Henrikh Mkhitaryan's role, say reports
Jose Mourinho wants to bring Bernando Silva to Manchester United this summer to allow Henrikh Mkhitaryan to play more regularly in his favoured number 10 role, according to reports.
The Independent are reporting that Mourinho is keen to bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford this summer and is open to the idea of playing him in a wide role next season.
Silva has emerged as one of Monaco’s most important players this season and has scored six goals and made nine assists in 33 Ligue 1 games for the Principality side.
The report claims that Mourinho would like to try playing Silva in a wide role, knowing that he will bring a creative flair to his side, while also doing his defensive duties by tracking back.
Mkhitaryan has been in much improved form for Manchester United since the turn of the year after enduring a difficult transition following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
The 28-year-old Armenian has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season and has also notched up one assist for his team-mates.
Mkhitaryan will be expecting to be involved when Manchester United take on Celta Vigo in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie on Thursday night.
