Insider discusses Gareth Bale’s future amid Man United transfer speculation
The La Liga expert admits Gareth Bale's injuries are hampering his career, although Real Madrid want to keep the Man United target
Guillem Balague admits Gareth Bale is facing an uncertain future at Real Madrid amid talk of interest from Manchester United.
The Wales international missed Real Madrid’s aggregate win against Atletico Madrid due to injury as los Blancos booked their place in the Champions League final.
The Independent reported earlier this week that the former Tottenham Hotspur winger would be open to a move to Manchester United at the end of the season.
Bale has struggled with a series of injury problems throughout his Real Madrid career so far after his £85.6m move to the Spanish capital from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
The 27-year-old has won two Champions League titles and the Copa del Rey at The Bernabeu so far and could win his first La Liga title with Real Madrid this term.
Asked during a question and answer session with Sky Sports about what the future holds for Bale at Real Madrid, La Liga expert Balague said: “Bale is an interesting one.
“Every year, Real Madrid think it will be the year where he makes the jump into the top three players in the world. But injuries have not allowed him to do so, despite being so close in recent seasons.
“Having Isco and Bale is fantastic because it allows Real to attack in different ways, so the idea at the moment is to keep both.
“The situation may change if, after another year of battling with Isco, Bale continues to be hampered by injuries.”
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
