Gary Neville sends warning to Chelsea about Man United transfer budget
Manchester City and Manchester United could spend £400m on new signings in the summer transfer window, according to Gary Neville
Gary Neville has warned Chelsea that Manchester City and Manchester United could spend £400m on summer signings.
The Blues eased to their first Premier League title under Antonio Conte after Chelsea were 1-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Friday night.
The west London side are on course to finish seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur after Chelsea eased to a second title in three seasons.
Manchester City are in third place and 15 points behind the Premier League champions after an inconsistent first season under Barcelona legend Pep Guardiola.
Jose Mourinho has prioritised Manchester United’s Europa League campaign in recent weeks, which has left the Red Devils in sixth place and 25 points adrift of Chelsea.
And Neville has warned Chelsea to be prepared for the prospect of both Manchester clubs spending a lot of money on new signings in the summer transfer window.
“He will have two Manchester United clubs throwing between £300-400m at it this summer,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“They are hurting. There are managers under big pressure to deliver.”
Chelsea appointed Conte as their new manager after the Blues finished in tenth place last term.
