Graeme Souness is confident Manchester United will still be able to attract great signings in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils limped to a goalless draw with Southampton in their penultimate Premier League game of the 2016-17 season.

Manchester United signed France midfielder Paul Pogba in a world-record £89m deal from Serie A champions Juventus last summer.

Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed a move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho looked to overhaul his squad.

The Red Devils are on course to finish in sixth place in the Premier League table after a mixed domestic campaign under Mourinho.

Manchester United can still secure their place in next season’s Champions League if Mourinho’s side beat Ajax in the Europa League final next Wednesday.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Manchester United’s ability to attract the best players this summer after a disappointing season, Liverpool legend Souness said:

“I still think Man United will still pull the very best players [in the transfer window].

“I think they’re just behind Barcelona, Real Madrid and on a same level of Bayern Munich.

“They’ll attract great players.”
