Gary Neville: Why I’m not worried about Man United signings under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville is confident that Manchester United will get their signings right in the summer transfer window
Gary Neville is confident that Jose Mourinho will get his Manchester United signings right in the summer.
The Red Devils are facing an uphill battle to secure a top-four finish this season after back-to-back stalemates in the Premier League.
Manchester United drew 0-0 with Manchester City in the derby last weekend before a surprise 1-1 draw with Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The 20-time English champions signed four players in the summer transfer window last summer following Mourinho’s appointment.
While Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitarysan and Paul Pogba have helped Manchester United make improvements, the Red Devils are still four points behind third-placed Liverpool.
Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast after Manchester United’s 1-1 stalemate with Swansea, ex-defender Neville backed Mourinho to get it right in the summer transfer window.
“Jose knows he has some signings to make. He has some tweakings to do with the squad. When they add those players, they’ll be ok,” Neville said.
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season under Louis van Gaal, which led to the appointment of Mourinho.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup at Wembley in February.
