Man United to re-sign player sold by Louis van Gaal in £25m deal – report
Michael Keane could be heading back to Manchester United in a £25m deal this summer, say reports
Manchester United are set to re-sign Michael Keane in a £25m deal from Burnley, according to reports.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Jose Mourinho is ready to bring the defender back to Old Trafford after he joined Burnley on a permanent deal back in 2015.
The report states that Manchester United have emerged as the favourites to bring the 24-year-old back to Old Trafford this summer after he was let go by the Red Devils for £2m by Louis van Gaal.
The story also claims that Manchester United negotiated a clause in their deal to sell Keane to Burnley, entitling them to 25 per cent of any sell-on fee. That means they would be able to sign Keane for less than any of their Premier League rivals.
Keane is a boyhood Manchester United fan and can expect to quadruple his £25,000 a week wages should he move to Old Trafford this summer, according to the report.
The defender, who has continued to live in Manchester since his switch in 2015, has been in fine form for Burnley this season and has scored two goals and made one assist in 35 Premier League games so far this term.
