Legend sends warning to Liverpool about Arsenal
Mark Lawrenson says Liverpool must win all of their remaining games to finish in the top four
Mark Lawrenson has warned Liverpool that they will need to win their remaining two Premier League games if they want to finish in the top four this season.
The Reds still have their Champions League fate in their own hands and will secure a spot in next season’s competition if they beat West Ham and Middlesbrough.
Arsenal are looking the most likely team to catch Liverpool as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.
Arsene Wenger’s men can move to within a point of Liverpool if they beat Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday night.
And former Liverpool star Lawrenson feels that the Reds will have to secure maximum points from their last two games to qualify for the Champions League.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “I think Liverpool will have to win their final two games of the season to make the top four, because I think Arsenal are going to win all three of theirs.
“The Gunners end their campaign with games at home to Sunderland and Everton, and I would expect them to beat both of those teams at the Emirates. ”
Liverpool are looking to break back into the top four this season after the Reds ended up eighth in the table under Jurgen Klopp last season.
