Alan Pardew: Why I’ve been so impressed by this Liverpool player
Alan Pardew lavishes praise on Adam Lallana following his impressive form for Liverpool this season
Alan Pardew has lavished praise on Adam Lallana following his step up in form under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this season.
The England midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Reds side this term and has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Merseyside outfit.
Indeed, the 28-year-old has scored seven goals and made seven assists in 28 Premier League games for the Reds to help Klopp’s side up to third place in the Premier League table.
Lallana played 74 minutes of Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Watford in the Premier League on Monday night.
And Pardew has been extremely impressed by the midfielder’s development under Klopp at Anfield this season.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Pardew said: “Even when he was young, he never not wanted the ball, even if he didn’t make the pass. That has never left him.
“Now the quality, the confidence and experience has come in. He is starting to make things happen. It is paying off. He is scoring assists and goals.”
Lallana will be expecting to feature for Liverpool when the Reds return to Premier League action with a home clash against Southampton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Klopp is aiming to steer Liverpool back into the Champions League after their eighth-placed finish last season.
