Pundit predicts where Liverpool will finish
Paul Walsh admits he's concerned that Liverpool could miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League
Paul Walsh has admitted that he’s “nervous” Liverpool could miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
The Reds are currently third in the Premier League table as Jurgen Klopp looks to steer his side into the Champions League in his first full season in charge at Anfield.
However, Liverpool have not been convincing in recent weeks and they were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at Anfield last weekend.
The Reds will take on West Ham and Middlesbrough in their final two games as they look to secure a top-four finish and a route into next season’s Champions League.
However, Walsh admits that the Reds will have to step their game up in their final two fixtures of the season after dropping points in two of their last three games.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday morning, Walsh said: “There is a lot of work for the teams behind them but Liverpool have to slip up. I’m nervous that they might.
“They haven’t been convincing. They’re not blowing teams away and they can’t afford a mistake.”
Liverpool finished eighth and without a trophy under Klopp last term.
