Michael Owen tells Jose Mourinho not to sell this Man United player
Michael Owen believes that Marouane Fellaini has a future at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho
Michael Owen believes that Marouane Fellaini will be a key player for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.
The Belgian midfielder hit the headlines last week when he was shown a straight red card for a head-butt during the closing stages of Manchester United’s goalless draw with Manchester City.
Fellaini has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United team this season and has made 27 appearances in the Premier League for Mourinho’s men.
The 29-year-old has struggled to hold down a spot in the first team at Old Trafford following his move to Old Trafford from Everton under David Moyes.
However, Owen feels that Mourinho has now found the best role for Fellaini and is expecting him to play a key role at Manchester United under Mourinho in the seasons to come.
Owen told The Daily Mail: “He offers Manchester United something different to what they have already got. He’s huge, he’s very difficult to play against.
“Mourinho has found a role for him, he plays in a lot of games, he is a different option. I would say he has a future at Old Trafford if Mourinho is the manager.”
Manchester United are currently gearing up for their crunch Europa League clash against Celta Vigo on Thursday night in the semi-final first leg.
