Manchester United are ready to pay £40m to sign Eric Dier from Tottenham this summer, according to reports.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to part with as much as £40m to bring the Tottenham midfielder to Old Trafford this summer.

Dier has earned plenty of praise for his strong performances for Tottenham this season and has been a driving force in helping Mauricio Pochettino’s men up to second place in the Premier League table.

The 23-year-old midfielder has become a regular fixture in the Tottenham team and has also established himself as an England international.

The report claims that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Dier to Old Trafford this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of his second season in charge.

However, the same article also claims that Tottenham are not worried about the situation concerning Dier, who is on a £50,000 a week, long-term contract at White Hart Lane.
