Pep Guardiola talks up reported Man United transfer target
Pep Guardiola explains why he is a big fan of Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez
Pep Guardiola believes that James Rodriguez is good enough to cut it in the Premier League amid the transfer speculation linking the midfielder with Manchester United.
Recent reports in the Spanish media, as reported by the Daily Express, have claimed that both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Rodriguez this summer.
Both Premier League clubs are likely to be keen to bolster their strike-forces this summer as they look to strengthen their squads ahead of next season.
Rodriguez is thought to be considering his future beyond the summer due to his lack of playing time at Real Madrid this season – the Colombian has only started 13 La Liga games this term.
And Guardiola believes that the 25-year-old has the necessary quality to cut it in England should he opt to move to the Premier League.
Guardiola told a news conference on Monday afternoon: “In terms of quality, there is no doubt of him playing for Real Madrid because his team-mates are very good.
“All the good players in the world can play in all leagues, it will depend on the team and the team-mates. But his quality is undoubted.”
Manchester United are currently gearing up for their Premier League trip to Southampton on Wednesday night.
