Man United join Chelsea in race to sign 24-year-old – report
Manchester United have joined Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Jack Butland this summer, say reports
Manchester United have joined three other Premier League clubs in the race to sign Jack Butland from Stoke City this summer, according to reports.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Red Devils have joined local rivals Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in the hunt for the 24-year-old goalkeeper this summer.
The same story claims that all four clubs have all made initial enquiries about the shot-stopper’s availability.
The report states that Manchester United are “considering replacements” for current number one David De Gea should the Spanish goalkeeper end up leaving Old Trafford to sign for Real Madrid this summer.
Butland is under contract at the bet365 Stadium until 2021.
Manchester United are widely expected to be one of the Premier League’s biggest spending clubs this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were one of the busiest clubs in last summer’s transfer window as they splashed the cash on signing Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
