Man United could announce first summer signing on Sunday – report
Manchester United and Real Madrid could announce the transfer of James Rodriguez as soon as Sunday, say reports in Spain
Manchester United could announce the signing of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid as soon as this weekend, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Radio Caracol is reporting that an agreement for Rodriguez to join the Red Devils is already in place and the transfer will be made public on Sunday after Real Madrid’s final La Liga fixture of the season.
However, a conflicting story in the Sun suggests that a possible deal is not as far along as it is being reported in Spain.
There has been plenty of speculation linking Manchester United with a summer transfer bid to bring Rodriguez to Old Trafford in recent days.
The Colombian’s future at the Bernabeu has been a source of speculation due to his lack of playing time with Madrid this season.
The 25-year-old has scored eight goals and made six assists in La Liga so far this season but has only started 13 of those games.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second season at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were one of the Premier League’s biggest spending clubs last summer as they brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.
