Man United plot £80m double swoop for first summer signings – report
Manchester United could splash £80m on signing Blaise Matuidi and Bernardo Silva this summer, say reports
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to spend £80m on signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi and Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Red Devils boss has identified the duo as two of his top targets at Old Trafford ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Mourinho has lost patience with Marouane Fellaini after his sending off in the goalless draw with Manchester City last week and has earmarked Silva as a possible replacement.
The story also reports that Mourinho is keen to bring PSG defender Matuidi to Old Trafford and that the Frenchman would be interested in a summer move to Manchester United.
The article goes on to state that Silva would cost in the region of £50m, while Matuidi is rated at around £30m ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United were one of the Premier League’s biggest spending clubs last summer as they brought in Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
