Ander Herrera states his prediction for Man United v Celta Vigo
Ander Herrera looks ahead to Manchester United's crunch Europa League clash with Celta Vigo on Thursday night
Ander Herrera has warned his Manchester United team-mates that they must “respect” the threat posed by Celta Vigo in Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend.
Jose Mourinho’s men scored what could be a vital away goal last week as they sealed a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in the first leg in Spain.
However, Herrera knows that the La Liga side will pose a serious threat at Old Trafford and called on Manchester United’s fans to get behind the team.
Speaking to MUTV, Herrera said: “We have to be very respectful because Celta are very difficult opponents overall.
“They have scored away in every game they’ve played in the competition so we have to be aware of that.
“They are a very good team, very dangerous when they play away and we will need our fans at home.
“I tell them we really need them to create a good atmosphere, a difficult atmosphere for the opponents, who can push us to be in the final. It’s not going to be easy.”
Manchester United are currently outside the top four in the Premier League, meaning that winning the Europa League this season probably represents their best chance of Champions League qualification.
The Red Devils will take on either Lyon or Ajax if they reach the final later this month.
