Juan Mata states his prediction for Man United v Celta Vigo
Juan Mata looks ahead to Manchester United's crunch Europa League semi-final clash against Celta Vigo on Thursday night
Juan Mata has warned his Manchester United team-mates that they will have to be at their best when they take on Celta Vigo in their crunch Europa League clash on Thursday night.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
That result dealt another fresh blow to Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season and highlighted the importance of the Europa League as a possible route into next season’s Champions League.
Manchester United host the Spanish side at Old Trafford after their 1-0 win over Celta Vigo last week thanks to Marcus Rashford’s second-half free-kick.
But Mata has warned that the Red Devils will need to be at their best if they want to stop Celta Vigo at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Writing in his personal blog, Mata said: We need to play a very solid game against Celta.
“We have an advantage but I’m sure they will come here hoping to turn the tables and they will be a dangerous team.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season.
