Pat Nevin has spoken of his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentinian coach has managed to transform Spurs into perennial title challengers since taking over the reins from Tim Sherwood back in 2014.

Spurs finished in third place in the Premier League table last term after challenging Leicester City for the top-flight crown for most of the 2015-16 season.

Tottenham’s excellent run of form in the second half of the campaign has put pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea in the final months of the season.

And Chelsea legend Nevin explained why he is a huge admirer of Pochettino, backing the Lilywhites to challenge for the title in the coming seasons.

“I so admire Pochettino. He has made them a different thing altogether. They will be up challenging. It’s just a harder Premier League,” Nevin told Newstalk.

Tottenham lost 4-2 to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last weekend.

Spurs signed five players in last summer’s transfer window after a third-place finish.

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli won the PFA young player of the year award for the second successive season earlier this month.
