Piers Morgan sends message to Antonio Conte after Chelsea win Premier League title
The Arsenal shareholder reacts to Chelsea winning the Premier League title
Piers Morgan hailed Antonio Conte as a magnificent manager after Chelsea won the Premier League title on Friday night.
The Blues manager took over the reins from interim boss Guus Hiddink after Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last term.
The west London side started Friday night’s clash at West Bromwich Albion knowing that three points would secure a first English title for Conte.
The Chelsea boss made the brave decision to take off star player Eden Hazard with 14 minutes remaining in an attempt to add more energy to his team.
Hazard’s replacement Michy Batshuayi scored a vital winner to secure the Premier League crown and prompt wild celebrations from the Italian coach at The Hawthorns.
Outspoken Arsenal shareholder Morgan was effusive in his praise of Conte after Chelsea lifted their second title in three seasons.
Morgan wrote: “Congrats to Chelsea, best team in the League with a magnificently passionate, inspiring manager.”
Arsenal will be hoping to deny Conte the double in his first season in England when Chelsea take on the Gunners in the FA Cup at Wembley later this month.
