Pundit confident Liverpool will hold talks with 26-year-old striker
Dean Saunders believes Antoine Griezmann would consider a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window
Liverpool will hold discussions with Antoine Griezmann if the Atletico Madrid striker is considering a move to the Premier League this summer, according to Dean Saunders.
The France international’s future has been a relentless source of speculation throughout the 2016-17 campaign after Griezmann impressed at the European championship last summer.
Manchester United are thought to be leading the race to sign the 26-year-old striker after Griezmann spoke about a potential move to Old Trafford on Monday afternoon.
Griezmann has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months with both London clubs looking to bolster their squads ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after the Reds secured a fourth-place finish thanks to a 3-0 win against Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to LFC TV about Griezmann’s potential switch to the Premier League this summer, Saunders claimed that Liverpool would be holding discussions with the France striker.
“I mentioned Griezmann and Liverpool will be on his list now,” said Saunders.
“He will have a conversation with them if he’s coming to England.”
