Alan Pardew has insisted that Chelsea have been the best team in the Premier League this season and will be worthy champions.

The Blues’ title hopes were given a massive boost on Friday night when closest challengers Tottenham were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United at the London Stadium.

That result left Chelsea needing just two wins from their remaining four games to wrap up the title in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at the club.

Spurs have been in fine form and have valiantly kept the pressure up on their London rivals in recent weeks.

However, former West Ham manager Pardew feels that Chelsea will be crowned worthy champions this season because they have been the top-performing side.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Friday night, Pardew said: “Tottenham have played the best football but Chelsea have been the best team. Chelsea are going to win the league. There is no doubt.”
