Paul Merson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to come out on top against Manchester United in a one-sided affair at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will host the Red Devils in north London as Spurs look to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss at West Ham United last week.

Spurs’ defeat at the London Stadium brought to an end a nine-game winning run which had seen Tottenham put Chelsea under pressure at the top of the table.

Manchester United booked their place in the Europa League final on Thursday night courtesy of a 2-1 aggregate win against La Liga side Celta Vigo at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho will have one eye on the European showpiece as the Manchester United boss looks to keep his squad fresh ahead of their clash against Ajax on Wednesday 24 May in Stockholm.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the top-six clash at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon, former Arsenal midfielder Merson said: “I don’t see anything but a Spurs win here.

“It’s the same situation as last week with Manchester United having a big game on the Thursday night, and they could get turned over here.

“But this game is all about Tottenham for me, it’s the last game at White Hart Lane and it should be a special atmosphere.”
