Darren Anderton is fully expecting to see Chelsea clinch the Premier League title on Friday with victory at West Bromwich Albion.

The Blues have the chance to secure their second title in three seasons on Friday night when they head to The Hawthorns to take on Tony Pulis’ men.

Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to West Ham United last week has allowed Chelsea the chance to clinch the title against the Baggies as they search for a domestic double in Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge at the club.

Anderton is expecting to see Chelsea get the job done on Friday night but has dismissed suggestions that Tottenham have “bottled it” in the title race this season and says Spurs deserve credit for their title push.

Speaking in an interview with 888sport, Anderton said: “That [Tottenham being called ‘bottlers’] was all a bit odd wasn’t it? Considering when it really matters it comes down to February onwards and Spurs won nine games on the bounce.

“They were never winning the league and when you ‘bottle it’ you’re ahead and you throw it away.

“Spurs have always been chasing so for me it’s ludicrous. The disappointing result against West Ham, well it happens and you have to say that Chelsea will finish it all off on Friday.”
