Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to take a big step towards a top-four finish by securing a 1-0 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium on Friday night.

The Reds head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their goalless draw with Southampton at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool need to win their two remaining Premier League games to secure a top-four finish and guarantee their place in next season’s Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s men head into this weekend’s round of games in third place in the Premier League table on 69 points.

And former Liverpool striker Owen is backing the Reds to get the job done when they take on the Hammers in east London on Sunday afternoon.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “If City and Arsenal have passed their own examinations this weekend there will be huge pressure on Liverpool at the London Stadium against a West Ham side who are unbeaten in their last five.

“The Reds are currently better on the road than at Anfield, and I expect Jurgen Klopp’s side to get the win they need as they have done at Watford, Stoke and West Brom in recent weeks.”
