Charlie Nicholas states his prediction for West Ham v Tottenham
The former Arsenal midfielder is backing Tottenham to beat West Ham on Friday night
Charlie Nicholas believes Tottenham Hotspur will be too strong for West Ham United in the Premier League on Friday night.
The Lilywhites will make the short trip across the English capital to take on West Ham at the London Stadium.
Tottenham have won their last nine Premier League games to move Mauricio Pochettino’s side to within four points of leaders Chelsea.
Spurs were 2-0 winners against Arsenal in the north London derby at White Hart Lane last weekend thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Writing in his Sky Sports column about Tottenham’s clash against West Ham in the Premier League clash on Friday night, Nicholas said:
“I am expecting Spurs to be too strong for West Ham and close the gap to one point because they just don’t look like they are going to stop winning. Friday night will be sensational because Spurs are in form but they have to go for it and maybe take a risk or two,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Spurs are playing first but they need to get the job done. Middlesbrough on Monday you would still expect Chelsea to win. They are so convincing and thorough in the way they go about their business and have plenty of match-winners.”
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season after Spurs finished behind champions Leicester City and runners-up Arsenal.
Spurs lost 4-2 to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last month.
Mauricio Pochettino side have the best defensive record in the Premier League this term.
