Michael Owen states his prediction for West Ham v Tottenham
Michael Owen is tipping Tottenham to secure a comfortable win over West Ham United on Friday night and keep the pressure on Chelsea
Michael Owen is backing Tottenham to close the gap to Chelsea down to just one point by beating West Ham United at the London Stadium on Friday night.
Spurs head into the game fresh from their impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal at White Hart Lane last weekend as they kept the pressure up on leaders Chelsea.
Tottenham know that victory over West Ham in east London on Friday night will move them to within just one point of Chelsea ahead of the Blues’ clash with Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
And former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is backing Spurs to keep up the pressure on Chelsea by securing a comfortable win over Slaven Bilic’s side.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Harry Kane and Dele Alli have 38 league goals this season and one more strike from either between now and the end of the season will see them beat the 1994=95 tally of Jurgen Klinsmann (20) and Teddy Sheringham (18). They have both been quite outstanding in a Spurs side who keep getting better and better.
“Since the start of the 2015-16 season Spurs have picked up 15 more points than any other side in the Premier League – whilst it looks as if they will have nothing to show for their continued excellence I expect them to take all three points against a Hammers side struggling for goals in recent weeks.”
Tottenham have been the Premier League’s top performing team in recent weeks and have won nine of their last 10 games in the top flight.
The Lilywhites finished third in the table last season.
