Manchester United could be set to wrap up the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid by Tuesday next week, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that talks between Real Madrid and Manchester United are “ongoing” but that a deal could be announced by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a bid to bring Morata to Old Trafford in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.

The same report states that the potential stumbling block for Manchester United is the fee, with the Red Devils not prepared to pay more than £60m for Morata.

The story also cites another report from Spain, claiming that Morata has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United but the Red Devils are yet to settle on a fee with Real Madrid.

Morata is said to be keen on a transfer away from Real Madrid this summer because of his lack of playing time in the first team last season.

The Spain international only started 13 La Liga games under Zinedine Zidane last term as Real Madrid won the Champions League and La Liga titles.
