The Reds are expected to be in the market for a number of new signings this summer as Klopp prepares for his second full season in charge at Anfield.
Liverpool have inevitably been linked with a host of different players in recent weeks but have thus far only confirmed the signing of young striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.
Klopp is likely to want to bring in significant reinforcements this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League following their fourth-placed finish last season.
And former Liverpool captain Gerrard says he would love to see the Reds bring in a new left-back and attacking player this summer.
Gerrard told BT Sport: “I think we need someone in the left-back position, James [Milner] has done a fantastic job out there, but it would be nice to have another option out there as well.
“And maybe one more attacking player to give some more firepower and help unlock the defences that are really narrow and compact.
“I don’t think we need major reconstruction, I think it’s just a couple of pieces of the jigsaw left and I’m really happy with where we are at the moment.”
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last season to secure a return to the Champions League under Klopp.
The Reds will be hoping to mount a serious title challenge next season as Klopp looks to steer them towards the Premier League trophy.
