Jose Mourinho wants to hold crunch talks with Matteo Darmian about his Manchester United future to ward off interest from Juventus, according to reports.

The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils boss wants to discuss the Italian defender’s situation at Old Trafford and will make securing his future one of his top priorities when he returns to Carrington.

The same article claims that Darmian is attracting interest from Serie A champions Juventus and that the defender would be open to a move back to Italy.

However, it is also claimed that Mourinho still views Darmian as a “useful” player and would like to keep him at Old Trafford beyond the summer.

Darmian himself is likely to want regular first-team football next season as he looks to secure a place in Italy’s squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

As the speculation about his future continues, Darmian has been enjoying some time away from football and recently married his long-term girlfriend Francesca Cormanni in Italy.

Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after the Red Devils wont he Europa League title last term.
