Conor McGregor will fight Floyd Mayweather in the most-anticipated hybrid fight in history in August, and Paddy Power are offering new customers enhanced odds of 40/1 on McGregor to win or 20/1 on Mayweather to win in Las Vegas.

That’s very good value indeed, when you consider that McGregor is currently priced at odds of around 4/1 and Mayweather around 1/6 with most bookmakers.

Scroll down to find out how you can get 40/1 on McGregor or 20/1 on Mayweather (both maximum stakes of £1) with the Irish bookmaker.

To take up the special offer on either McGregor or Mayweather to win, simply open a Paddy Power account through this link (or via any of the other links above) and back your chosen fighter to win at the normal price shown on the site, and if he does win on 26 August, your new account will be topped up to the value of 40/1 or 20/1 after the fight.

Remember, these exclusive and time-limited betting offers are for new customers only and enhanced winnings are paid in free bets. The maximum stake for both offers is £1/€1. Check websites for full T&Cs.

The stage is set for one of the most-anticipated hybrid fights of all time. That’s right – McGregor v Mayweather is finally happening!

Negotiations for this fight have been going on for some time now and it looks set to blow a host of records out of the water.

For starters, both fighters are set to earn huge paydays, with Mayweather said to be guaranteed $100m (£78m) plus the upside on high sales by Showtime, the US network handling the pay-per-view.

McGregor is expected to earn at least $80m (£62m), although a percentage of that is likely to go to the UFC.

There has already been a huge betting interest in McGregor v Mayweather, with millions said to have been staked as soon as the fight was officially confirmed on 15 June 2017.

McGregor is currently priced as the outsider at odds of around 4/1 with most bookmakers, and Mayweather the favourite at around 1/6.

The broadcasters are naturally very excited. Showtime Sports chief Stephen Espinoza said: This is really an unprecedented event. Really we haven’t seen anything in modern history that resembles it, it’s impossible to predict how many sales this will do.”

One thing is for sure, the build-up to this fight is going to be absolutely huge. Fans have been demanding this bout for some time and it has finally been confirmed after months of speculation.

McGregor took the announcement of the fight as a chance to aim an early dig at his opponent. He tweeted a picture of Mayweather Snr along with the message “THE FIGHT IS ON” – a clear mocking of his opponent’s age (Mayweather is 40).

The stage is set for one of the biggest sporting events in recent history – and we can’t wait.

McGregor v Mayweather prediction

Despite all of the hype, we feel that McGregor is likely to struggle to land many punches against Mayweather. The experienced 40-year-old is going to be very well-placed to exploit any over eagerness from the Irishman. This will be a standard boxing fight with standard boxing rules and that could prove to be McGregor’s downfall against his bitter rival. Let’s be totally honest about it, McGregor’s best chance to win this fight is by knockout early on. As the fight progresses, it really is hard to see past the experienced Mayweather claiming victory. For that reason, we’re backing the veteran to come out on top on 26 August in Las Vegas.

Prediction: Floyd Mayweather to win by unanimous decision.

When is McGregor v Mayweather and which TV channel will it be on?
