Alexis Sanchez will tell Arsene Wenger that he wants to leave Arsenal and sign for Manchester City this week, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Chile international is set to inform the Gunners boss of his desire to quit The Emirates this week after the relentless speculation about his future at the club.

The same story claims that Sanchez is also willing to hand in an official transfer request if Wenger refuses to let the 28-year-old leave the club this summer.

The article says that the Chile international is keen to link up with his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The story also claims that Sanchez priced himself out of moves to both Bayern Munich and Manchester City by demanding wages of £400,000 a week.

According to the same article, Arsenal are prepared to compromise on the situation by offering Sanchez a one-year contract worth £300,000 a week, before reviewing their position next summer.

However, Sanchez is “determined” to leave The Emirates this summer, according to the report.

The attacker is due to report back to Arsenal for pre-season training on Tuesday after being struck down with the flu in Chile.
