Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to reveal that he was feeling a little under the weather this week.

The Chile international has been enjoying an extended summer holiday after having helped his country reach the Confederations Cup final in Russia.

Sanchez has been on holiday but he has not been far from the headlines this summer, with the 28-year-old’s future at Arsenal remaining a source of speculation.

The forward has one year left to run on his current contract with Arsenal and is yet to commit his future to the club by signing a new deal.

Arsenal fans will, of course, be hoping that Sanchez stays on at The Emirates but the Gunners could choose to cash in this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year, if indeed he does want to leave the club.

Sanchez appears now to be back in London, and he was clearly feeling a little run down on Thursday night.

He posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Enfermo sick ”

Arsenal won the FA Cup last season but finished in fifth place in the table as they missed out on Champions League qualification.

Sanchez is due to return to Arsenal training on Sunday, though it remains to be seen if his illness affects that.
