Arsenal and Chelsea to compete to sign 27-year-old World Cup winner – report
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all ready to enter the race to sign Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, according to reports in Germany
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Germany.
Sport Bild, as quoted by the Daily Express, is claiming that the Premier League champions are monitoring Muller’s situation at the Bundesliga holders after Bayern Munich signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid earlier this month.
The same article states that Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in bringing the 27-year-old to England but Serie A champions Juventus will rival the Premier League trio for Muller’s signature.
Muller struggled to secure regular first-team football under Carlo Ancelotti last season despite his prolific record in the Bundesliga since breaking into the Bayern team.
The World Cup winner scored five goals and made 12 assists in 25 starts in the German top flight last season, while Muller made a further four appearances from the bench.
Arsenal have already signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal earlier this month to bolster their attacking options.
Chelsea have brought in goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
