Arsenal are still hopeful of convincing Alexis Sanchez to stay at the club and are ready to offer him a new contract worth £275,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are still confident that they may be able to keep hold of the Chile international, whose current deal with the Gunners expires at the end of next season.

Sanchez’s future has inevitably been a relentless source of speculation this summer due to the fact that he is yet to sign a new contract with the north London club.

The same report claims that Sanchez loves life in London and Arsenal are hoping to be able to convince the 28-year-old to stay at The Emirates.

Manchester City have been linked with a bid to sign Sanchez this summer but Arsenal are said to be desperate not to sell the striker to a Premier League rival.

The same story claims that Sanchez is due to join up with the Arsenal squad on 30 July after enjoying an extended summer holiday following his involvement in the Confederations Cup in Russia.
