Arsene Wenger confirms Arsenal transfer talks over several players
Arsene Wenger confirms Arsenal are in talks about a number of players potentially leaving the club this summer
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal are in talks with a number of players about potential exits from the north London club this summer.
The Gunners are inevitably being linked with a host of players this summer as Wenger looks to bolster his squad ahead of the 2017-18 season.
However, there could also be a number of exits this summer as Arsenal consider offloading some of their fringe players ahead of the new campaign.
The likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all out of contract at the end of next season.
And Wenger has confirmed that there are talks going on about some players potentially leaving the club this summer.
Asked whether he expects to move any players on – such as Kieran Gibbs – Wenger told a news conference on Sunday: “There are talks, yes. There is contact but we are not close.”
Arsenal are gearing up for a season outside of the Champions League next term after they finished fifth in the Premier League last term.
The north London side will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title after not having won the trophy since the 2003-04 season.
