Arsene Wenger is tipping Danny Welbeck to have a great season for Arsenal next term.

The England striker has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at The Emirates due to a string of injury problems since joining the north London side from Manchester United back in 2014.

However, Welbeck has impressed whenever called upon and enjoyed a short run in the team towards the end of last season.

The striker will be hoping to feature more regularly next season as Arsenal look to challenge for the Premier League and win the title for the first time since 2004.

And Arsenal manager Wenger is expecting big things from the forward at The Emirates next season.

Speaking to Arsenal’s website last week, Wenger said: “He’s a great team player and I expect him to have big season. He was out for such a long time that I hope this will be a positive season for him.”

Arsenal have signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac so far this summer as Wenger looks to further strengthen his team ahead of next season.

The north London side finished in a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table last term.
