Arsenal have made a £123.3m bid to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by the Daily Express, is sensationally claiming that the Gunners have made a world-record attempt to try and lure the 18-year-old attacker to The Emirates this summer.

The report claims that Arsenal have lodged a bid of “more than €140m” for the highly-rated forward.

Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his admiration of Mbappe and was quoted this week as admitting that he is a big fan of the French teenager.

However, it remains to be seen whether there is any truth in the claims that the Gunners have tabled such a big offer for the attacker.

The same report states that there is interest in Mbappe from both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Arsenal have already signalled their intention to strengthen their squad this summer by bringing in Alexandre Lacazette for a club-record fee from Lyon, as well as Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac.

The Gunners will have to make do without Champions League football next season, however, after they finished fifth in the Premier League table last term.
