Riyad Mahrez is keen to sign for Arsenal this summer, but he isn’t the Gunners’ top priority, according to journalist Rablat Cedric.

The Foot Mercato reporter has taken to social media to claim that the 26-year-old Algerian would love to sign for the Gunners this summer.

However, he also suggests that Mahrez is not Arsenal’s first choice this summer, with Roma having also been linked with the player.

Cedric claims that Roma have not made a fresh approach for the Leicester City winger yet after having been linked with Mahrez earlier this month.

Cedric wrote on Twitter: “Info Mercato: AS Roma is not returned to the charge for Mahrez.

“The player wants to move to Arsenal. But he is not the 1st choice of the Gunners.”

Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for further attacking reinforcements this summer as the Gunners prepare for the new season.

Mahrez has been touted as a possible target but the Gunners have also been heavily linked with a move to bring Thomas Lemar to The Emirates from Monaco.

Arsenal, who finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup last term, have only signed two players so far this summer after wrapping up deals for left-back Sead Kolasinac and striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners will have to settle for Europa League football next season after missing out on a spot in the Champions League.
