Riyad Mahrez wants to force through a transfer to Arsenal this summer despite strong interest from Roma in securing his signature, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that Mahrez will reject Roma’s attempts to sign him and will instead focus on trying to secure a move to The Emirates this summer.

The same story says that it is the 26-year-old winger’s “dream” to sign for Arsenal and he will try and push through a move to north London, even if it means waiting until much later in the transfer window.

The article says Mahrez is ready to wait until the end of the transfer window when Arsene Wenger could be forced to look at his options, especially if Alexis Sanchez were to leave the club.

Arsenal are said to be keen on signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco, but with the Ligue 1 club reluctant to sell the midfielder, Wenger could end up turning his attentions to Mahrez.

The story claims that Arsenal could secure the signing of Mahrez in a £35m deal before the end of the transfer window.
