Wenger confident of making 21-year-old Arsenal’s third signing – report
Arsene Wenger is confident that Arsenal will be able to tie up a deal to sign Thomas Lemar this summer, say reports
Arsenal will have to break their club transfer record for a second time this summer if they want to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners will have to shell out more than the fee they paid to bring Alexandre Lacazette to the club earlier this month to get Lemar.
The same story, however, claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident that the north London side will be able to get a deal done for the French winger.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to bring the Monaco winger to The Emirates this summer and are said to have had bids for the 21-year-old turned down by the Ligue 1 champions.
Arsenal are currently on the lookout for their third summer signing after the Gunners wrapped up deals to bring in Sead Kolasinac and Lacazette.
Arsenal are preparing for a season in the Europa League next term after the Gunners ended up in fifth place in the Premier League in the 2016-17 campaign.
However, Wenger’s men did end the season on a high when they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
