Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving Arsenal this summer after reports linking him with a move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old midfielder’s future at the club has been a source of speculation in recent weeks because of the fact that he has entered into the final 12 months of his contract at The Emirates.

Arsenal are believed to be keen to keep him at the north London club but the midfielder is yet to commit his future to the Gunners.

Liverpool have been touted as a possible target for the England midfielder as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the Reds’ return to the Champions League.

However, Wenger does not appear to be worried about the midfielder’s future despite him having entered into the final few months of his contract.

Asked if the England international will be staying, Wenger is quoted as saying by Metro: “Yes. 100 per cent, I expect him to stay.

“No matter the speculation, he will stay.”

Arsenal will have to make do without Champions League football next season after the Gunners ended up fifth in the Premier League table.

However, the north London side did end last season on a high by beating Chelsea to win the FA Cup.
