Arsenal could be set to make a move to try and sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Gunners could yet make a bid to try and bring the Netherlands international to north London after his proposed move to Liverpool collapsed last month.

Van Dijk was thought to be on the verge of moving to Anfield last month before the Reds were forced to pull the plug on the deal following a complaint about their approach from Southampton.

Arsenal have already secured the signings of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

And according to the Daily Mail, the Gunners could be set to make a swoop to try and sign Van Dijk from Southampton.

The north London club are thought to still be on the lookout for reinforcements in a number of positions this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to transform his team into genuine Premier League title contenders next summer.
