Arsenal and Manchester United could be set to battle it out for the signature of Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Star, is claiming that the two English clubs are both willing to make big offers to try to bring the 21-year-old to England this summer.

Asensio is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Spanish football but faces a battle to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Real Madrid.

The same story claims that Serie A champions Juventus are also interested in signing the youngster this summer and will step up their pursuit if they lose Paulo Dybala to Barcelona.

However, despite the apparent interest in Asensio from three of Europe’s top clubs, Real Madrid manager Florentino Perez is not willing to sell him this summer, according to the story.

Manchester United are on the lookout for their third signing of the summer, after having tied up deals for Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku.

The Gunners are also aiming to further bolster their squad after having signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.
