Arsenal have a “real interest” in signing Jean-Michel Seri from Ligue 1 side Nice in the summer transfer window, according to reports in France.

French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the north London club haven’t made an official offer to recruit Seri despite their interest in the versatile midfielder.

The same article states that Arsenal are facing competition from two Premier League clubs – Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City – to sign the 26-year-old ahead of transfer deadline day.

According to the French media outlet, Seri has a £36m transfer release clause after the Ivory Coast international impressed in Ligue 1 last season.

Former Porto midfielder Seri scored seven goals and made nine assists in 34 appearances in the French top flight last season.

Arsenal have signed two players in the summer transfer window so far after the Gunners signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.

The north London side snapped up Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal earlier this month to bolster their attacking options.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season but won the FA Cup to finish the season on a positive note.
