Arsenal still haven’t given up in the race to sign AS Monaco midfielder Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to sign the France international throughout the summer transfer window so far.

However, Arsenal are thought to be facing competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Mbappe has emerged as one of the leading prospects in European football after a return of 15 goals in 26 games in Ligue 1 last term.

The France teenager netted six times in nine Champions League appearances to help AS Monaco to reach the semi-finals before a 4-2 aggregate loss to Juventus.

Arsenal are reported to be targeting Mbappe’s team-mate Thomas Lemar with a series of bids over the past week.

However, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has revealed that Arsenal are still in the market to sign Mbappe despite their current pursuit of Lemar.

“What about incomings at Arsenal, could they bring in more players? They’re still in for Thomas Lemar from Monaco and they haven’t given up on a big-money move for his team-mate Kylian Mbappe,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning.

“PSG are willing to give Mbappe a pay rise of more than 1000 per cent. He’s currently on £16,000-a-week, PSG offering him £200,000-a-week for an 18-year-old.

“Real Madrid are favourites to sign him for a world-record fee but he remains a top Arsenal target.”

Arsenal signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal last week to eclipse Mesut Ozil’s £42.5m fee in 2013.

The Gunners have also signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
