Insider reveals the details behind Arsenal’s bid to sign 21-year-old forward
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth reveals Arsenal are still looking to reach an agreement with AS Monaco about Thomas Lemar's transfer fee
Arsenal are still working on a potential transfer deal with AS Monaco to sign Thomas Lemar, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a big to sign the France international over the past couple of months as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options.
Arsenal have reportedly failed with two bids to sign the 21-year-old already but the north London side are expected to come back with a £50m offer to sign Lemar.
The France forward has been touted as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez if the Chile international opts to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth revealed that Arsenal are trying to reach an agreement with Monaco in terms of the fee and how the Premier League side will make the payments.
“Could Monaco be losing another player and could another player be on his way to England?” Sheth told Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning.
“We are told that talks continue with Arsenal over the transfer of Thomas Lemar.
“Discussions centre on the size of the fee and the structure of the payments.”
Lemar scored nine goals and made 10 assists in 34 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to help AS Monaco to win the French title and reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season but the Gunners won the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win against champions Chelsea.
